‘We have acknowledged that we are suffering together from the excessive volatility of exchange rates among all currencies,’ Lagarde told a news conference following a meeting with finance ministers from the CFA franc zone. The CFA franc is a monetary unit used by 14 countries in west Africa. Lagarde said there is a ‘need to obtain adjustments, if possible.
