BAE Systems Swings To 1H Loss; Sees Forex Gains

) LNDN (Dow Jones)–BAE Systems PLC (BA. LN) Thursday swung to a first-half net loss due to foreign-exchange rate fluctuations and accounting adjustments despite a 28% rise in revenue but said it expected full-year results to benefit from the continued weakness of sterling against the dollar. “The group continues to expect good growth for 2009 as a whole despite a lower level of land vehicle sales” the defense company said in a statement. “We anticipate a stronger operating cash inflow in the second half year” it added. Finance Director George Rose told reporters.
